The Pitotless Nozzle is designed for taking precision flow rate measurements without a pitot. You'll never have to shut down in the middle of a test to change out a pitot because it got hit by a rock. Use the Pitotless Nozzle with the new Little Hose Monster™ or the 2 ½” Hose Monster® in fire pump testing, fire flow testing or unidirectional flushing; or mount it directly on a hydrant, test header valve, or any fixed 2 ½” outlet.

The standard hose connection is 2 ½” NH hard-coat anodized aluminum swivel coupling. We can provide just about any thread spec on request and we stock AMA, BCT, BSP, QST and WCT for quick turn around.

Flow rate is determined by reading internal pressure of the nozzle. With no pitot in the stream, most debris will pass through without causing damage. The unique and patented constant rate of area reduction shape of the Pitotless Nozzle creates a steady laminar flow. Even when attached directly to a hydrant nozzle, the gauge needle is steady.

If using the Pitotless Nozzle WITHOUT the Hose Monster.

The Pitotless Nozzle must be attached securely to a hydrant or other stationary device. The thrust created by high velocity water flow is dangerous to personnel and destructive to property. DO NOT attach the Pitotless Nozzle directly on the end of an unsecured hose. Clear water discharge path.

LIST OF “DO NOTS”

• Do not attach the Pitotless Nozzle to the end of a hose unless the Little Hose Monster or Hose Monster is attached to it or unless it is permanently secured.
• Do not attach a hose to the male outlet end of the Pitotless Nozzle under any circumstance. The resulting backpressure will distort flow rate measurements.
• Do not over tighten the gauge or adapter into the brass gauge port. Always use a holdback.

Spanner Wrenches Note: If you plan to use the Pitotless Nozzle with the new Little Hose Monster, no additional spanner wrenches are required. If you plan to connect to the HM2H or HM2HF, two spanner wrenches are needed to tighten/loosen the Pitotless Nozzle; The universal spanner wrench (WSPA) and the hole-type spanner wrench (WSPA104) used as a holdback on the body of the Pitotless Nozzle.
